Purple Pumpkin DT Call....

Sadly my time is up at Purple Pumpkin and won't be staying on as I just haven't had any time to scrap as lately. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with Sam and her Mum and you too could be part of this fabulous team by applying for the new DT.

All you have to do is.....

Email the following to purplepumpkincrafts@hotmail.com

- 3 of your favourite layouts, cards or off the page projects, which show how you use handmade embellishments (especially our buttons). If you haven't had a chance to use Purple Pumpkin embellishments before, you can still apply. We know they can be a bit hard to get hold of sometimes ;)

- A brief paragraph about yourself, including your name and address, details of any design teams you are on (or have previously been on) and a link to your blog.

Design team members will be appointed for a period of 6 months, and in that time you will receive plenty of product to work with. As a design team member you will be required to incorporate Purple Pumpkin embellishments on your projects where ever you can, and promote them on your blog. You will also be required to write 3-4 blog posts per month on the PP blog to showcase your work.

International applicants are welcome to apply.

Applications need to be in by the 30th of September (next Friday), and the new design team will be announced on Monday the 3rd of October.

Playing Catchup

I have been SUPER busy and no time whatsoever for blogging or even scrapping for that matter:(

BUT i do have a couple of pages from last month that I never shared.

First up, I finally got a chance to play along at The Color Room and the colour palette was gorgeous!!

Here is what I created....

and I don't think I have shared August's sketch at Anna's Craft Cupboard yet?? Just checked and I even forgot to upload it to the gallery:(

September Challenge at Purple Pumpkin

This month at Purple Pumpkin we have changed the challenge to a 123 challenge.

So the challenge is to use

1 Lollipop/flower
2 Doilies
3 Buttons

and basically the rest is up to you!!

I created this layout for the challenge.....

and I have used the pink satin flower, a white paper doily and also a pink one under the flower, and for buttons I have the cute birdy, the little girl button and for my third button have used a new pink cabochen

For this blog hop we are sharing layouts featuring the new CLAY BUTTONS and I had so much fun playing with these gorgeous buttons

Pretty much all of the embellies on this layout are PP. The yellow satin flower has a orange and white clay button plus another one to the left....LOVE them! Also I have used the orange lace and a black spotty button also from PP and lets not forget the gorgeous felt banner and twine!!

Also just a little trivia on myself

When did you start scrapbooking? I started approx 5 years ago

What is your favourite tool? Definitely punches, border punches and the Martha Stewart Butterfly punch are probably my fave at the moment

When and where do you create? I am lucky enough to have my own scrap space in our spare room, started off as a small desk and now pretty much takes over the whole room...lol. I love to create at night mainly when the kids are in bed if not in the arvo when all my jobs are done so I don't feel guilty

What inspires your creations? I love looking at other people's blogs, plus normally the photo will inspire me and the colours or theme of the pic

What is your Favourite Purple Pumpkin Embellie? Hmmmm, hard one! I am definitely loving the clay buttons plus the new felt banners. and oh yeah the small themed buttons

What is your favourite technique? It changes regularly, but at the moment it is paint and misting plus I have always really loved fussy cutting

What are your top 3 favourite manufacturers? October Afternoon, Crate Paper and MME

What is your favourite snack food when scrapping? I really don't snack while scrapping but definitely need my coke zero nearby!

What do you listen to when you are scrapping? Normally I will just put on the TV and listen to the top 40

What scrapping product couldn't you live without? Definitely patterned paper, there is just so much you can do with it!

What is your favourite colour? Greens

What is your favourite food? der....chocolate!

Well I have a fair bit to blog today as I have just noticed it has been some time between posts. I have just been so busy at the moment that scrapping and posting have not been a priority:(

Anyways, last Saturday saw 2 new sketches revealed over at Inspired Blueprints, just in time for the weekend!!

First sketch was #78 and I totally LOVED this sketch!!

for this sketch I have mainly used Storyboard Kits plus some cute bottle tops from A Lil Somethin and that pirate felt is from Purple Pumpkin!

Next up was Sketch #79.....

As you can see I have used some of my fave embellies again from A Lil Somethin and Purple Pumpkin.....So if you would like to get a hold of some of these goodies, A Lil Somethin has there next sale THIS Thursday starting at 7.30pm!!

I was lucky enough to be asked to be a Guest DT at one of my fave sketch sites....Creative Scrappers!!

I was given sketch #168 which was a challenge for me as it really had alt of "space" which always freaks me out! lol

I chose to use a mix of My Minds Eye papers plus my fave embellies, Purple Pumpkin of course! The denim flower, twine and button in the middle of the flower are all PP.

How cute is that chipboard?? I picked it up from the Chip Chop Shop ages ago and only just rediscovered it in my stash...

New month means a new sketch at Purple Pumpkin!

I had sooooo much fun with this sketch and really love what I ended up with. I pulled my leftovers from a few of my Storyboard kits and this is what I came up with.

Yes, I have used paint again! and the aqua twine, the brown button on top of the prima flower are both from PP.

Also there is a aqua button on the top LH corner from PP.

Skinny Dipping.....

Just a quick post tonight to share a layout I did for the July sketch @ Anna's Craft Cupboard.

The sketch was a cute one....

I have cut the flowers from some Pink Paislee

the Prima flower is sitting on top of a Purple Pumpkin doily and the centre is also a PP button. The centre of the doily has been cut in half and I popped it down the bottom with a cute little rose on it....hate to waste such cute products!

On the topic of Purple Pumpkin.....the Guest Dt spots will be announced soon so make sure you keep an eye on the blog in case it is YOU!!

Well it's another week which means another great sketch from Inspired Blueprints!!

Sketch #77 is up on the blog and here is a look at it....

for my layout I have flipped the sketch on it's side and also instead of the lovehearts I have scattered some butterflies around the page.

I have used papers from Echo Park, For the Record, probably my fave range so far from them! Also the satin flower and spotty button are from Purple Pumpkin and the butterflies are from Martha Stewart Classic Butterly punch....so cute!

Just a quick one tonight, have had a head cold last couple of days and really not "feeling" it!

It's been quite awhile since I have found time to play along at Sketchabilities, but I loved this sketch and really wanted to make time for it! So I did....

Inspired Blueprints is back!!

After a small break, Inspired Blueprints is back with a great sketch and fab samples from the DT team!

Sketch #76 has gone up today, which is one of the new changes, sketches will be released on Saturdays, just in time for your weekend scrapping!

At first when I saw this sketch, I knew it was perfect for that really girly girl page but I didnt have any suitable pics so I changed it up and went with a boy theme.

I got hold of some awesome boy embellies at the last sale at A Lil Somethin. They are the star bottletop and the calendar, you must check them out, they are so cute!

Have also used some old October Afternoon papers, plus Cosmo chipboard, Green Tara twine,Basic Grey stickers and a Heidi Swapp sticker..my last one :(

I have joined in over at Creative Scrappers again with sketch #163 inspiring me.....mainly because it is so different to what type of sketch I normally look for.

this was rather a quick page for me.....I just grabbed whatever paper was sitting on my desk at the time, which happened to be some My Minds Eye and I also had some Pink Paislee off cuts nearby from the last page I had just finished.

Add some chipboard, some Purple Pumpkin buttons, roses, twine and.....finished. Love it when it all comes together!!

Also just a quick share of some very quick and easy cards I whipped up in about half an hour, which I shared over at Purple Pumpkin not long ago.

They were actually a little gift for someone who basically has "everything" and I just finished the off by wrapping them up with some raffia.

Back to work for me tomorrow, so no scrapping for me till the weekend:(

Joining in at Creative Scrappers

It has been ages that I have played along at Creative Scrappers, but I actually found some spare time on the weekend and played with sketch #162.

Here is the sketch...

I am DETERMINED to use up some of my older papers before I go splurging on some of the new releases (as tempted as I may be!!) and I have used some older ranges from Websters Pages, October Afternoon and MLS.

the lollipop flower, froggy button and spotty button and twine are all from Purple Pumpkin which will be celebrating it's 1st birthday this month and Sam has plenty planned to help celebrate her first successful year, so make sure you keep your eye on the blog for upcoming sales, challenges etc!!

My Lil Superhero.........

Nate just loves dressing up and has quite an array of outfits, but this would have to be probably his fave of all. Last Xmas he got his Superman outfit from Aunty Rhonda and Uncle Fub and raced around the yard for hours!

I have used the sketch for June from Handmade by Suzanne, as below...

and I have used some older October Afternoon papers plus some Cosmo Cricket, OA Mini Market & AC Thickers & CP Stickers.

I had so much fun making this banner and as I really wanted it to stand off the page I mounted them on black cardstock and I have used a Purple Pumpkin felt flower on top of the matching yo yo flower to finish it off.

To Infinity & Beyond......

Now I'm not one for minimal layouts but when I saw this sketch over at Creative Scrappers I knew I wanted to have a go. Every now and then I try to have a go of something outside of my comfort zone and this was definitely it!

Freak out time......there was hardly any patterned paper, lots of white space and ink/paint splatters!

So here's the sketch I based the layout on....

and I have used the papers, brads, CP stickers and alphas from Storyboard Kits - Kelsey, glimmermist in leapad and sapphire blue, , October Afternoon Mini Market Alpha's (totally love these!!) and of course some Purple Pumpkin buttons!

I'm actually quite happy with the outcome, even though I fussed around with it for about 3 hrs!LOl

And speaking of Purple Pumpkin......next sale date will be announced soon and I guarantee you won't want to miss it!!!

Anna's June Sketch....

One of the sketches I always find time to do every month is the sketch over at Anna's Craft Cupboard. I pulled out some of my older papers for this sketch, am having a real dig around in my stash and really trying to use up my older papers before I am tempted to buy any new ones.

Creative scrappers sketches...

While at the Storyboard Kits crop night a last Friday, I managed to get two layouts done from Creative Scrappers. Has been awhile since I have done some of their sketches but I always love to keep them on hand as they are great to use!

First one is Sketch #158....

and I have used some October Afternoon 5 & Dime and My Minds Eye papers and embellishments plus some Jenni Bowlin paint dabber.

next sketch was sketch #157....

the papers are older October Afternoon, some 7 Gypsies gaffer tape and some of my fave embellishments....Purple Pumpkin!!

I have made a flower and finished the centre off with a PP button from the Pirate kit, plus a blue spotty button and there is also the hessian lollipop which I have layered a pirate bottle cap on top.

June Sketch @ Purple Pumpkin

So the start of the month means new challenges and there is another sketch up at Purple Pumpkin. It was great to see so many entries in the first ever challenge and a big CONGRATS to all the winners!

The sketch was designed by team member Sarah and it looks like this....

the conditions of the challenge are the same as last month and that is you must have at least one Purple Pumpkin item on the layout..

I have used a few PP on my layout starting with the twine and the small little deer button and then under the twine is a yellow doily which has had the middle cut out and then cut in half and used on the layout. (just realised I have forgotten to add my journalling....oops!)

there was no way I was wasting the middle of the doily so I popped it under a heart polymer clay button also from PP and finished it off with so more twine

So if you are looking for some inspiration and great products, head on over to the blog... also sale night was last night and if you are lucky there nay be some goodies left for you......check it out here!

Sketches.....

So the last sketch for May has gone up at Inspired Blueprints and it's another great one.

I pulled out some Christmas photo's from last year, for some reason I have hardly scrapped any of these pics, or maybe it's because I just struggle scrapping Christmas pics, why I just don't know!

I have used mainly a Storyboard Kit for the page and I have added a few small pieces of my won to finish it off.

Going through a phase....

Not sure what's gotten into me lately but I have been making so many cards, which is something I hardly ever do.

It started with these two cards I made for Mother's day (sorry about the crappy photo's, was late in the arvo)

so for the last two weeks I have made another 15 cards....OMG what am I going to do with them! lol I haven't even scrapped a layout.

On the up side, I am using up heaps of scraps and leftovers from kits etc that otherwise would probably have never been used. But in saying that I think I have enough scraps to do about 1000 cards!!

So sorry no layouts to share at the moment, hopefully will have some soon.

Well this month's sketch at Anna's Craft Cupboard is another great sketch by the talented Wendy Smith!

I missed out on getting around to the sketch last month for the first time in a long time, but was straight onto this sketch as soon as i saw it....

and here is mine; I have used some My Minds Eye and October Afternoon papers, Sass Lass Stickers, October Afternoon word stickers, Bella Blvd Chipboard, Jillibean Soup and American Crafts Alphas and of course my fave......Purple Pumpkin Buttons and Twine.

Nate absolutely LOVES this monkey....it's one of those ones with the velcro hands that you can wrap around you, which is exactly what he does pretty much everywhere we go. So darn cute!!!

Have you done the May Purple Pumpkin sketch yet??? Well I managed to sneak away from the housework and kids yesterday to get it done.

Here is a reminder of the sketch....

So the only conditions of the challenge are you must use at least one Purple Pumpkin on the layout

I have used some of the new Stella & Rose from MME and have used the new twine available at Purple Pumpkin now on the banner.I also added the car button as the colours were perfect for the layout

In the upper RH I have also added the Large Dino Button which I have inked with black.

So it is as easy as that!! Don't forget to link your layout on the Purple Pumpkin site and you will be in the running for some PP goodies!!

Last month's kit at Storyboard Kits is probably my fave so far....love the colours, the embellies, AC Thickers....just love it all!

In saying that here is a page I did using a Creative Scrappers sketch from their recent Blog Hop and this kit.

Here is the sketch....

The journalling reads about how many memories this view brings to me. When i was younger my family and friends spent so many weekends down the Nelligen River water skiing, tubing, knee boarding, camping you name it and so many good times had.
Going back there after many years with my own children really makes me miss living here and sharing all the great times that can be had in this beautiful place

and a closeup of the gorgeous silk flower I added in from Purple Pumpkin

Now I'm not normally into making cards BUT I quickly put this one together before we left on holidays because I just couldn't find a Baby Shower card anywhere!

I have used some Storyboard Kits for the card plus an owl button from Purple Pumpkin as well as a White doily.

Another layout I haven't yet shared is this one using some MME papers.....soooo in love with this range!

Totally loved this sketch at Inspired Blueprints this week and it was the perfect sketch for my pics of the two kids on Australia Day this year. They are such good buddies....sure they have an occassional fight but not very often, I couldn't ask for much more really!!

So it is Sketch #72 and it looks like this....

For my layout I have used some of my fave papers, October Afternoon plus some Purple Pumpkin goodies, Prima Flowers, OA Bingo card, Bella Blvd Chipboard and a few other pieces. That cute butterfly pin I picked up awhile ago from somewhere but how cute is it!

It's not very often I do layouts, Just because, but I managed to get a couple done this week seeing as I am holidays and all my other commitments were up to date.

This was a pretty quick layout for me(I seriously think I am the slowest scrapper ever! LOL) and about as minimalistic as I ever get!

I have only used scraps of some MME and October Afternoon plus some Purple Pumpkin goodies(the yellow yo yo flower and birdy button), also some Sass Lass stickers.

Well another week has passed and a new sketch is up at Inspired Blueprints! I love the fact that they are now weekly, I always find them so inspirational.

So it is sketch #71 and it looks like this.....

and for this layout I have used some WRMK and MME papers, Purple Pumpkin buttons (how cute is that lion!!) OA and 7 Gypsies stickers, Sass Lass Alphas, Collage Press Diecut and some Green tara twine.

Some Purple Pumpkin Shares....

Well Sunday was my turn to share some of my Purple Pumpkin layouts and it was this one....

I used a Creative Scrappers sketch and as per usual for me, I was too late to upload it!!

I Have used the XL Panda button, which is super cute which I put on top of a scallop then also I made a flower using the scallop punch again then a small doily and spotty button on the top...here is a close up...

and then in the top left hand corner I used the doily and spotty button combo again, and I just cut the centre out of a larger doily as I had no small ones left..

and another Creative scrappers sketch, this time using the regular size owl button and some MME papers

The next sale at Purple Pumpkin has been put back till possibly the start of May, but don't worry I will confirm the date asap so you don't miss out on the goodies!!

Baby Shower Pressie....

When I found out I was going to be an Aunty again, I really wanted to make something special for my little brother and my SIL for their first little bub!! So while talking to them about decorating the bubs room, they said they were going with a neutral colour and bird theme.....I remembered coming across a project Anthea had featured on one of her blog posts awhile back and knew I wanted to do somethimg similar!!

So anyways I picked up this picture at IKEA (totally LOVE this place!!) for a measly $10 mind you I broke the glass halfway through the project and had to make another trip to get another one....what a shame that was ! LOL

I pulled the back off and used the original pictures as a guide.

I have used a mixture of old and new My Minds Eye papers, they are such a thick PP and perfect for the project and I also mounted the owls on Black CS so they stood out a bit more.

for this larger owl I added the branch, plus some leaves and those mulberry flowers and the doily on its belly is from Purple Pumpkin!

Now I just have to figure out how to get it to Brisbane safely, I am hoping they will let me take it as hand luggage, otherwise I am sure it will break if I have to check it in!

I have used some gorgeous Girls Paperie PP which I have cut and layered, the yellow of the flowers were so suited to Belle's dress, plus have used some Girls Paperie embellies, Prima and a Purple Pumpkin button which was Perfect for this page! I think yellow is my new fave colour!

I have drawn a total blank on which sketch I based this layout on or what challenge so whomever....sorry!

I have used my fave kit club, Storyboard Kits for this layout which had these pretty papers that were perfect for these pics of Belle at her first ballet class.

and of course the sweet doilies and butterfly button finished off the page perfectly, which are from Purple Pumpkin

Have you noticed that there are just some items that I just can't not put on a layout lately, I know you go through phases but at the moment one of them is twine....I love it!! I think I have nearly every colour possible, and still want more!

The other is Purple Pumpkin embellies.......they are just so darn cute!

So here is a layout featuring my faves......some red twine I picked up from Handmade by Suzanne and of course some embellies from Purple Pumpkin, which are the Owl button and the felt spotty button tops and up the top another spotty button.

Papers are My Minds Eye, Good day Sunshine which are awesome for those boy pages!!

I have also used a sketch from Creative Scrappers, and as usual I didn't upload it in time, maybe one day I will remember!! LOL

Finally a Xmas layout!!

This is my first Xmas layout....for some reason I totally forgot to print my Xmas pics from last year, how I don't know! lol
Thankfully December's Storyboard kit was a Xmas kit cause I really had no papers or embellies otherwise.

I have used a Creative Scrappers sketch, #142.... love these sketches!

I love Xmas for many reasons, besides the obvious of spending time with family, and the excitement on the kids faces.....I love the fact that Santa is fantastic bribery for the kids! LOL. For weeks leading up to Xmas we kept explaining to Nate that he would have to leave his bot bots with Santa so he would leave him some presents.
So Xmas eve he quite willingly placed them under the tree, he was a little sad, as I was too as my little baby boy was growing up.

I even mangaged to sneak a Purple Pumpkin button in there.....they are so versatile and can really be used on any type of layout.

Glimpse of Sunshine.....

Well I just found a break in this weather to take a quick pic of a layout I did last weekend, the rain here has been torrential, perfect for scrapping, mind you I haven't scrapped a thing yet....

So this layout is based on Sketch #67 at Inspired Blueprints. I have had this Cosmo Cricket paper for awhile and really was not sure how to use it, but I love how this layout turned out in the end!

the journalling for this layout was important for me, it is about how I need to remember that it is ok for me to have some time out occasionally. I always feel guilty having time to myself, which is not often but I choose it that way. I don't like leaving my kids with others unless it is for work reasons and the two days they are in daycare, and they are still little, they are my responsibility even if that means I don't get to go out without them regularly. I also only scrap when they are in bed or they are with their Dad, I enjoy scrapbooking but I enjoy them even more, and before I know it they are going to be grown up and I don't want to regret missing precious time with them.

Love making these felt flowers, they are so easy and effective......you can glimmermist them as well to suit the layout!

Well every pic has a story behind it and this is how this one goes....

So while holidaying in Coffs Harbour we went to the Pet Porpoise pool, and as soon as the kids found out that you could get your picture taken with a seal, they basically nagged us all day until it was time. I convinced Damo to go up with Nate as I wasn't real keen on the whole idea. He sat there and waited, and waited and waited, smiling the whole time......then up came the seal and this is the pic we got!!

Every time I look at this picture I just can't stop laughing, it really makes my day!
This is why I love scrapbooking so much, cause if you don't record those stories you just seem to eventually forget them.

Weekend scrap shares.......

Well Friday night was another fantastic crop night at the Storyboard crop, great bunch of gals, great chats and a night off from the kids!
I only managed 2 layouts but I was quite happy to doodle along and just cruise after a hectic week.

First off I did the sketch challenge over at Challenge Heaven using the March Storyboard kit, Isla which is super sweet and jam packed, as usual!

and another one using last months kit, which I pretty much scraplifted from Lisa's page in the Australian scrapbook Ideas Mag

and for the first time I played along at Sketchy Thursday's and used this sketch...

to create this layout, love these pics of Nate on the slide at Coffs Harbour. He just couldn't get enough!!

Between birthday parties, catching up on housework and the park I did manage another layout, but am unable to share just yet.

I love playing along at the monthly sketch challenge at Anna's Craft Cupboard. The sketches by Wendy are always so inspiring and this month's was no exception!

and I have used some pics of Isabelle last Halloween, playing the perfect role as the scary witch. We had so much fun this night and this was really the first time the kids got dressed up and went trick or treating with their cousin Abbey.

Well I am home from a very beautiful but extremely filling dinner for Valentines Day, and I would say I have been very spoilt! Damo got me a beautiful watch (after many hints that I really wanted a new one)and spent the day with my gorgeous family.

I have wanted a new Eco-Drive for ages.....Not bad pickings from him if I do say so myself!

So while I am lounge bound, thought I would quickly share a layout from Inspired Blueprints sketch #65.

and for this sketch I have used the new Hudson kit from Storyboard kits, which I am totally in love with!

Well last month I played along at Handmade by Suzanne's in their sketch challenge which was created by the talented Sam Hauzer from Purple Pumpkin

This was the sketch....

Except for the flowers and the Purple Pumpkin buttons, I have used a Storyboard Kit for this layout. This is what I love about these kits and that is that when you have any bits and pieces leftover from older kits, you can co-ordinate them all together to get even more layouts! Such great value!!

I am loving my subscription to Storyboard kits and yet another great kit has been released today, Hudson.....check it out here. Really looking forward to having a play with this one, it is full of so many goodies.

So over on the blog is a sketch challenge using a spiral flower tutorial and I couldn't resist the challenge.

Another challenge completed over at Challenge Heaven this month and this one was the word challenge of using "sunshine" in your title plus 4 patterned papers.

I love this range from My Minds Eye called Quite Contrary. The colours are gorgeous and just perfect for this pic of Belle from when we were on holidays in Coffs Harbour

She is my Sunshine on a cloudy day, always making me smile and laugh from her one liners she randomnly comes out with or the sweet kisses and cuddles she gives me when she knows I really need them. Love you to pieces Baby!

A bit of Xmas at Sketchabilities

It's not very often I enjoy scrapping Xmas pics, not sure exactly why but I try and avoid them. This pic of Isabelle is from Xmas 2009 and had avoided it till now.....this sketch was perfect!

this was my first attempt at making spiral flowers that I have seen everywhere, I never realised they were so easy! The photo looks a bit dark on my laptop but not sure if you can see them......if not check out this tutorial over at Storyboard kits which explains them really well, also I have used pieces from their Dec kit for this layout!

Whenever I am in a scrapping rut, I know I can always rely on Creative Scrappers for some awesome sketches and inspiration.

As soon as I saw Sketch #137, I loved it so my first chance to scrap at the Storyboard Crop on Friday night was this sketch!

Here is the sketch.....

and my layout using October Afternoon and Webster's Page paper, plus some Prima and those gorgeous buttons from Purple Pumpkin.

Another page I got done at the Storyboard crop was this challenge from Challenge Heaven; it is the colour challenge of Brown, Green and white.......love these colours especially for boy pages!

Look how cute he is in those little undies.....oops I mean Jocks!

Have been scrapping at least a page a day this week which has felt great, just need some sunshine now so I can share!!

Final Reveal of 2010.

Yes I know I am a bit late but we just got back from a few days down the coast, and of course the day we arrived it was stinking hot but too late to head to the beach, the next three days it rained so we decided to leave early (today) and you guessed it, it started clearing up. Anyways not to bother, I have so much to do around the house, have Damo with a list of requirements before he heads back to work on the weekend plus I desperately need some scrapping time!!

I am so desperate to get photo's printed that I have resorted to pulling out old pics that I had put away cause I had already scrapped them.

This pic of Nate is from Sept 09 when we were in Melbourne for holidays and went to the footy. He is only one and a half years old. I cant believe how much he has grown up in such a short period of time.

This is the Quote Challenge over at Challenge Heaven, where you had to finish the sentence, A Day at the....? plus use either ribbon or twine.

Due to all the Xmas activity ( and lack of scrapping time) the December challenges have now been extended till the end of January which suits me because I think my total layouts for the month is a whole massive 3!!

I can't believe Xmas is only 4 days away, I think I'm sort of organised but I just know I will have forgotten something! Are you organised??

Well due to all the Xmas hype I really have very little to show in the scrapping department. The layouts I have managed to get done I cannot show yet except for this one which is from creative Scrappers

and I have used some pics of Damo and our gorgeous niece, the last time I had a photo of them dancing together was at our wedding 8years ago and here she is now all grown up and 14yrs old.....

Well this month so far has pretty much been a no go for me in the scrapping sense.....between working a couple extra days, non stop Xmas shopping, parties and just general life I'm buggered!

My mojo seems to have disappeared as well and any layout at the moment is an effort. My last two where such a disaster...LOL so Yeah won't be sharing those!

I did manage to get to the first ever Storyboard Kits Crop night, and had a ball. Great bunch of ladies, great atmosphere and definitely an event I must put in my diary!

So I did manage a couple of layouts....

and also this layout using Novembers Storyboard Kit...

Now that my Xmas shopping is pretty much done, I am hoping to have a go at a couple of challenges tomorrow, fingers crossed my mojo has come back to me!!

Nicknames....

Last month at Challenge Heaven, the theme challenge was Nicknames.

So I created this layout of Nate, and the fact that we have always called him Nate Nate since he was born and since he started talking he has always called himself Nate Nate, and I actually think he thinks this is his actually name.....Whoops!!

I have used a few different ranges of October Afternoon plus some sass lass stickers, 7 gypsies, Purple Pumpkin button (how cute is it??), and MME Papers.

Also I have been meaning to share some pics from our recent holidays in Coffs Harbour...so here they are.

We stayed at Darlington Beach and they had this awesome slide into the pool, I never thought the kids would go on it let alone Nate, but he did and loved it and constantly nagged Damo to take him on it!!

Isabelle is not a water baby like Nate, she was more than content to lay on the sun lounge and chill out!!

Obviously I have more, about 400 actually....lol, but will save some others for another day!

I thoroughly enjoyed using the new Pink Paislee range Sweetness for this month's sketch over at Anna's Craft Cupboard.
Just love the colours, the pinks and chocolate brown...yum!! and those gorgeous flowers, just screaming out to me to cut them up....and so I did!

I finally got around to having a play with Octobers Storyboard kit, I have been so busy I haven't even picked up this months kit and now Decembers is due out soon as well which I am really looking forward to as it is full of Xmas goodies, which I am desperately lacking at the moment.

Totally love these kits as you get so much out of them and can be used for both male and female pages! Such a great buy!

So I did the Inspired Blueprints sketch #60

and here is my page, normally I don't really scrap with purple but conveniently enough we had a wedding that had a purple theme....Perfect!

the only pieces I added myself were the Prima flower and the 7 Gypsies stickers.

I have always loved the challenges at Scrap the Boys and have finally got around to doing one of their challenges. This is for the November 2nd challenge of altering chipboard. I have glimmermisted the chipboard and used the sketch provided.

and love these pics of Nate playing in the garden with this snail he had found and how he was so curious with this little critter.

I originally did this layout for Octobers Kraft it up challenge but never got around to posting it so here it is anyways. I have used Octobers Storyboard Kit plus a few pieces of my own.

I totally adore this pic of Belle and Nate, it just shows how much these two totally adore each other, and that big cheesy grin on Nate's face is priceless!!

Hoping to sneak off soon and scrap as I really don't have much to show this month Plus I got a heap of new goodies for my birthday which I am just hanging to play with.

Well I am so glad White with 1 is back, as always have loved their challenges and their first one is a fave for me.....Yellow!! Totally love yellow and you had to of course use it with white plus journalling directly onto the layout.

Here is my layout and a pic of my brother and his new wife in Fiji....perfect pic for yellow!!

For my papers I have used 4 different ranges of October Afternoon, a Teresa Collins journal card, some Prima and Petaloo Flowers, October Afternoon word stickers, Sass Lass chipboard and some other bits and pieces.

Well this will be my last post for awhile as we are heading on Holidays up to Darlington Beach, Coffs Harbour early Sunday morning.....extremely looking forward to spending some quality time with my beautiful family!!

First up this month is sketch #34 from Sketchabilities. As you will see from the awesome samples by the rest of the DT, it is a very adaptable sketch, but I chose to stick to the sketch pretty much exactly.

Storyboard sketch..

This month I decided to take up Storyboard Kits challenge to create a layout using a Storyboard sketch, plus I have used some bits and pieces from leftovers from the last couple of kits ( and some bits of my own) to create this layout.

I used the sketch from the site...

and here is my layout.

I am really into the whole paper pleating/ruffling at the moment and really love the effect it adds to the page. I also love the versatility of the Storyboard kits and love the fact that I can normally adapt them for a boy and girl page!

So off to do some more scrapping, till then....

The Pinata Cake...

For Isabelle's 4th birthday this year, she really wanted this pinata cake, and looking at the recipe, I thought that maybe I could pull it off. Well after many hours of fiddling around making the choc mould and individually pasting every single mm & smartie on the outside of the cake....I had done it!!

all the hours of work were definitely worth it when I saw the look on her face....

This page was for the Themed challenge over at Challenge Heaven where you had to include a birthday cake in the layout.

Another challenge I got done over the weekend for Challenge Heaven was this one for the Word challenge.....Smile.

I am really trying to add more layers to my layouts lately and also for the first time in absolutely ages I have started distressing again, I remember about twelve months ago I never dared not distress a page then I lost my distresser and I stopped!
But it's back....

I created the scallop by cutting out a heap of circles, cutting them in half and arranging around the circle and a heap of fussy cutting and layering, took a while but I was really happy with the end result!!

Ebony & Ivory.......

The ebony and Ivory challenge at Challenge Heaven this month is;

Here is my layout using some leftovers from last month's Storyboard Kit plus some October Afternoon PP, Bella Blvd bloom, 2 Crafty chipboard, twine and some OA Stickers.

These pics are priceless and the story goes as such....

Kids were out playing in the backyard with Grandpa when they found this snail, they were fascinated by it. Much to my disgust they let it crawl all over them, they then made it a little house out the back, bathed it in the birdbath, fed it lunch, took it for a walk then after about 3 hrs of play they decided they had had enough so they put it on the footpath and squashed it!! Then tried to hide the evidence.....very funny day!

I really should be in bed right now as I got some bad news a few hours ago and have to make an early morning dash to my hometown, Batemans Bay as I found out that my grandmother has been taken to hospital and is seriously ill and does not have much longer here with us. My Dad convinced me not to drive down tonight as it is at least a 3 hr drive with two kids, and I just hope and pray I get there before it's too late!
So I can't sleep, I really don't know what to do with myself so I though I would blog, to try and take my mind off it.

I don't really have much to share except a couple of layouts from last week. first off is another great sketch this month at Challenge Heaven

here is Belle, dancing around as usual, she is getting quite used to me having the camera pointed at her all the time, before she used to get the cranks but now that she knows it's for "my scrapping" it is a different story.

and my take with it. Nate on his birthday with his prized possession, Woody! he goes everywhere with him and totally adores him.

and this months sketch was actually for four smaller pics but I have had this pic hanging around for awhile and really wanted to finally scrap it!

because it was such a great sketch, I have just printed a heap of smaller pics, so will probably be doing it again!

Anyways off to finish some projects that are due, hate leaving them to the last minute, enjoy this gorgeous day....

Today is recovery day after a massive grand final day and the Dragons FINALLY bringing home a premiership!! I'm so proud of them they deserve it.

We started the day with covering the house in red and white balloons and streamers plus spray painting next doors lawn with "go the dragons" as they are Roosters fans!! LOL

and then for the junior dragons army, they were just a tad excited!!

Isabelle was ready to cheer on the Mighty Dragons....

after a nail-biting first half the Dragons were down 8-6 and I thought there was No way I could handle another 40 mins of Footy but they came back on fire and smashed those Roosters to bring home the premiership since 1979.

To say we were excited is an understatement.....Damo had said at the start of the game that if The Dragons won he would do a nudey run down the street flying the flag.....thank gosh I convinced him to at least put something on the bottom even if it was a red g-string! LOl, the embarrassment was well worth it, but lets say I won't be sharing those pics!

I had more pics to share but blogger is playing up so will share at a later date!

Featured In Scrapbooking Memories...

I was rather excited to be featured in Scrapbooking Memories this month for "Portrait of a Scrapbooker" along with the talented Gilly Lester.
I'm really not sure who gets more excited to see me or my layouts in mags, me or Isabelle.....she's so proud of me and even did it for her news day at daycrae!! So cute!

I also just popped over to Inspired Blueprints and noticed that I won a prize last month there for Sketch #51, so pretty happy about that also.

For the last week I have had sooooo much Good Karma come my way, in many different shapes and sizes, and I quote a section from the Dalai Lama for reasons for good Karma in your life...

..."Follow the three R's;
- respect for self
- respect for others and
- responsibility for all your actions"....

and another one of his recommendations for good Karma, which is definitely one I have chosen to stick to over the last couple of months when alot of misconception, inappropriateness and nastiness was being flung around is...

"remember SILENCE is sometimes the best answer and to live a good honourable life"

I can proudly say I have adhered to all these pieces of advice, and now I am reaping the rewards for it.

So on a scrappy note, had a bit of scrappy time yesterday arvo with my SIL Shell and I did Sketch #31 at Sketchabilities. Here is the sketch...

This months sketch at Challenge Heaven was a heap of fun, although I have done this Inspired Blueprints sketch before, I had the perfect pics to use it again.

and this was my layout using Jillibean Soup papers plus a few bits of October Afternnon. The journalling really tells the story here with Belle, she just loves to cook and seeing as her Dad is a chef, it's "their" thing to get together on his days off and make pasta or bread.

Finally I have gotten around to photograph some layouts. It is a gorgeous Spring day here today, kids are outside playing and sunscreen is out, sign of good times to come!! (and lots of pictures to scrap!! LOL)

Anyway here is a layout I did over a week ago based on a Creative Scrappers sketch

and this pic was from Isabelle's 4th birthday......she was so in live with the Jonas brothers and as you can tell she was rather excited to get a DVD from her Uncle Phil & Aunty Eliza!

and for this sketch I have used alot of Storyboard Kit - Camryn plus a few pieces of my own, totally loving this kit this month, so girly and pretty!!

Inspiring Sketches.....

Just a quick one today and they are the last two sketches at Inspired Blueprints, which I totally love!

First off is sketch #55

there are so many ways you could have interpreted this sketch but I chose to stick to it pretty much entirely. I have used a Storyboard kit - Camryn, for this layout and I adore how it all came together. It is very much a girly kit and as soon as I saw the rose paper(which I have cut up now and have no idea what it is, sorry) I knew I had to cut it up and add some layers.

Sketch #54 is another sweet sketch

and for this one I have used MME background PP, crate PP, October Afternoon and crate paper stickers, Scrap FX chipboard, May Arts ribbon, AC Thickers and Prima flowers.....and Yes I am still scrapping last years Xmas pics!

Storyboard Layout.......

Well last month was the first time I got to play with the new Storyboard kits....and this one was called Beckett....perfect for boy layouts!

I have done this layout of Nate and his ADDICTION to singing all the Single Ladies.....ever since he watched Alvin and the Chipmunks over 4 months ago he just continually sings these lines over, and over again. He will be in the middle of a conversation, then suddenly break out in a tune then just stop and continue his conversation.....so funny. But even worse now, I think he knows it drives everyone crazy and he just sings it to be cheeky.

Haven't journalled yet so much to write but just not enough space and I think besides two little stickers the whole layout consists of the kit contents....

Cybercrop LO's.....

Last weekend the cybercrop was held over at Challenge Heaven, with the theme being "outdoors". I have so many outdoor pics and first challenge for me was the sketch challenge by Sheree using a sketchabilities sketch

I have used a mixture of PP's on this layout.....Pink Paislee, My Minds Eye and Sass Lass and alpha's are MME....totally love these alphas!

Challenge 2 was to create a layout using an outdoor pic plus must use something from outdoors, eg bird, tree etc

once again I have used MME papers, have stamped some background in "Split Pea" using the Kaisercraft bubble wrap stamp.....LOVE IT!! I added a little butterfly for my outdoor item.
Also there is a yellow doily I picked up from the Chip Chop Shop, Prima and some chipboard.

Unfortunately that was all the challenges I was able to complete....

August Challenge @ KIU

I don't normally find enough time in the month to get all the challenges done that I hope to, like KIU, but this month, I had to as I loved the colour challenge of using Black, green and yellow and of course, Kraft.

I am so happy with the glimmermisting, as it is a technique I haven't quite got the knack of yet. Normally I just end up with blotches, but not this time....YAY!

The papers are from a few ranges of October Afternoon(definitely my fave company) and 3 Bugs in a Rug plus there is some Prima, Basic Grey, 7 Gypsies and Sass Lass embellies there.
